In this session, we reviewed the section in Faith and Practice of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting on the Light Within and an excerpt from the pamphlet The Light Within by Samuel Caldwell, published by PYM. People commented on how the PYM Faith and Practice section tried to incorporate both Christ centered language as well as non-theist language, which reminded us that we need to "listen in tongues".   We discussed whether the idea that the Light Within is accessed in Meeting for Worship with attention to Business is unique among Christian traditions.  We also commented on continuing revelation as a difference.

From the list of characteristics in the pamphlet, it was noted that the characteristic that the Light Within was "resistible" was helpful in explaining those we have trouble with.
